Putting my head on another pillow tonight

Today was an easy hiking day today. Slack packed again. Had a little over 1/2 the weight I usually carry. This has been awesome. I sure am going to miss this service from my personal trail angel when he leaves in a few days. I did 18.1 miles today. I thought I was going to slow down. New shoes performed well. Only had the usual metatarsal foot pain I deal with all the time for the last 6 years.

I hiked to mile 975.8. Bruce extracted me from the side of the road and wisked me away to a nice hotel. I long hot shower and rest inside again tonight. And another nice dinner not cooked in my jetboil.

Nothing exciting happened today but almost. I had to visit Mother Nature and when I was done hovering I realized I squated over a patch of poison ivy. That could have been bad. Oops. No worries.

I am 10 miles ahead of my hiking buddies. I am trying to get to Harpers Ferry by Monday so Bruce can be there with me but not sure I have it in me to do that kind of miles. I should be slowing down to lety feet recover.

Well, dinner is almost here then it’s resupply, repack and bed time.

Happy Hiking.
