Another great day hikng

12 miles today and I was done by 1pm. I am relaxing at an awesome shelter site. Quarry Gap in Pennsylvania. Here is my view as I lie on my tent platform

Someone even planted flowers at this site and hung some planters. Shelters are clean and cozy but I am going to tent. Rain and storms predicted for tonight. I am taking my chances.

Today I was so jumpy after yesterday’s rattle snake episode. Every little stick on the trail looked like a venomous serpent waiting to attack me. Then, the tiny rustle of lizards scurrying off the trail had me doing double time and screeching. Glad no one saw me.

Approx 13 miles tomorrow and 14.5 Monday and I get to meet up with my sister Becky and brother-in-law, Pat. I will zero with them a couple days to rest up and recoup for the next half of this awesome journey.

Happy Hiking
