All good things must come to an end

Today is my last zero day of R&R for awhile. BIL Bear and Sister Bear have gone back to tour Gettysburg. I remained behind at the RV to rest. I will do a little housekeeping for them to earn my keep. Kind of like the shelters and hostels that have “work for stay” options. I think this deal is much better though. It it includes an AYCE (all you can eat) access to the refrigerators and cupboards. Yes, that’s right, refrigerators , plural. There is one for food and one for beverages. And if I behave BIL Bear will make us adult slushies in the evening. It is going to be tough heading back to the trail. But I can do it. I will be well feed and well rested. Oh, yes, and dry. All of which won’t last very long on the trail.

I won’t even be thrown back out into the wild cold turkey though. I do get to spend one more night inside tomorrow. They will drop me off early back at Boiling Springs and I will slack pack hike 16.5 miles. They will collect me further down the trail and provide one more night of luxury. Then I will head out again the next day into the forest with a fully resupplied pack and start the second half of my journey.

I  am so blessed to have my family and friends who are helping me along this adventure. It makes it so much more fun to share with others.

Happy Hiking
