Today flew right by

Wow! It’s 2:20pm and I can’t believe I am done for the day. I arrived at our prearranged meeting point at 2:15. I could hike on but then there is no other place for Hubby Bear to extract me that is close enough for me to hike before night fall. Originally he was going to leave the car and hike in with me to a campsite but most of the parking areas say not to leave cars overnight due to vandalism.

We crossed into New Jersey.

I hiked a tiny bit with Haha whom I met yesterday briefly. She stopped to rest and I kept going. I met up with Kilroy again but he eventually cruised on by. I also met a mom and daughter. The daughter, Little Engine is thru hiking and the mom is out for a day hike with her today.

Before I made too many tracks I wanted to photograph my new boots to show the wear and tear on them after just yesterday’s hike.

They look 15 years old after just one day.

A little wildlife. Not much to see today due to the rain and fog. It made for a cool day of hiking though.

It also made for some eery pics of this pond. I was with Haha at this time and we said how it looks like a horror film location. We joking said.that we needed to split up and each one do something stupid like the girls usually do in those types of films. We behaved and stuck together.

With about 3 miles left to go I double checked the map and the GPS. I couldn’t believe it was so early and I was almost done. I don’t even remember most of the hike. It’s like it was a dream. Freaky. I do remember the rocks. I will never forget those. They have spilled over into New Jersey. Ugh!!! At least there were no major Boulder fields and rock slides. Just more of the jagged misaligned teeth spewed everywhere with a few nice spots thrown in sparsely.

Blueberries were ripe and loaded along the trail. I enjoyed some trail magic compliments of Mother Nature. About 1 mile left I came to another loaded field and decided to pick some for Hubby Bear. If he doesn’t hurry up and get here I am going to eat them.

Boy is he lucky. He just arrived. I  off to a hotel again. It’s so nice. Need to rest my foot. My right foot is in real pain. Think I might have to have it checked out. It keeps getting worse not better.

Until then,

Happy Hiking
