A wonderful hike today

Today I hiked an easy 18 miles today. Hubby Bear did not have to go away on a business trip so I was still able to slack pack but no hotel tonight. We are camping in a little town park in Unionville, NY. I am actually still in NJ as far as hiking goes. Tomorrow though I will depart NJ putting another state behind me.

I soon caught up to Kilroy this morning who got a late start today. We hiked together and he took us up on the offer to hike passed his original goal for today so he could get more miles in. Shelters and tenting areas are scarce and it is hard to plan your days sometimes. Either it’s a short hike or a super long one. But since Hubby Bear is around he was able to extract us and drive us to this town for camping.

The terrain was easy, fun and exciting. I passed thru open fields.

Meandered around ponds and a huge marsh area,

and get to tent out for the first time in over a week. Life is good.  As I sit here I hear kids slashing in a backyard pool. Sounds so inviting.

Tomorrow I have 17 miles planned. Hopefully my happy feet will continue through tomorrow. Wish me luck. Until then,

Happy Hiking
