I am rested and ready to head back out

Zero day two and I am rested and ready to head back out. I feel awesome. I am alert and full of energy. It’s amazing what a little R&R and comraderee can do for the mind, body and soul. Or maybe it’s just the 3/4 of a gallon of Moxie, Fruity Pebbles, Snickers and Milkyways that has me raring to go. Yup that’s right, the former has been my diet for the last two days. Can’t forget the package of gluten free Oreos and Fritos Scoops. It’s the 2189 diet. Hike 2189 miles and eat whatever and whenever you want. It’s so much fun.

I love sharing Moxie with Moxie virgins. Most people don’t know what it is. For those of you not from Maine, it is a soda

that was made in Maine originally for medicinal purposes. It was also the first bottle soft drink. I love the stuff. One of my fellow hikers tried it yesterday and bought his own 2 liter.

I can’t wait to get back on the trail tomorrow and continue through the whites. Decent weather is forecasted for the next few days as well. Shittles back to the trailhead leaves at 7:40am, about an hour and 40 minutes later than I prefer.

Happy Hiking
