Batman hits the trail with Black Bear

White Mountain Hostel was a nice place to stay. We were up late with re supply and dinner but it was well worth it. We had a great time at the brick oven pizza place and had the same server as the other night who gave us a shuttle.

We had a nice breakfast made by Marni, the hostel owner. It was a huge breakfast burrito, sausage, hashbrown patty, blueberry muffin and OJ. Most of which I gave to Batman but I supplemented with a banana, corn chips and flat Coke. Once feed and packed up the five of us headed out. Thank goodness the trail passed right by the hostel and all we had to do was leave.  Batman hit the trail with me. It was really nice. He was supposed to hike this section with me over the border and into Maine but work calls. So he hiked until noon and then back out.

It was a nice hike with pretty woods and a simple path in the beginning but it became more challenging as the miles went on.

We crossed the 1900 mile mark. Wow!!! It’s amazing. We have stopped early today, about 3:30pm due to the very threatening rumbles in the distance. We found a spot near Dream Lake for three tents and a hammock. Once our little homes away from homes were set up the rain came.

Tomorrow we enter Maine.  I can’t wait.

Happy Hiking
