Missing the woods and solitude

I have been home one month and I am already missing the woods and solitude. Even though I have been telling everyone that if you want peace and quiet don’t hike the Appalachian Trail, it is still more tranquil then “normal” living.

I hardly make time for a nice walk. We squeeze the dogs outings in between our hurried work and chores schedules. I am slowly losing my strong and toned leg muscles I earned on the trip. I long to be back out there especially with this beautiful fall weather and scenery.

I started back to work at LLBean in Bangor which I absolutely love. My coworkers are fabulous and I enjoy helping our customers with their needs and wants. It is so rewarding. It also helps keep me mentally in the outdoors if I can’t be there physically.

To assist with my mental awareness for hiking I have decided to continue with My Happy Hiking blog. Who knows what topics I will discuss.

Off to work now. Tune in soon for the beginning of my gear reviews.

Happy Hiking
